How To Find A Name For A Blog

Category: Blogging For Starters

Repitive Sounds

I picked Buzzy Bee because it has a repitive sound. You'll find a lot of successul brands out in the world that either rythm or sound repitive. Using the same constantant sounds is just one option. You could use two words that are already related in a person's mind. For example, Pirate's Bay. This creates a hook. There's so many ways to start creating a story for your audience. Think of all the creative ways a stage artists grabs your attention. Think of your favorite movie. What did they do that really stood out.

Domain Name Courtesies

Try and keep the name short. I know that sometimes you just create a killer name and don't want to shorten it. That's ok. Try and create a shorter alias for the domain name that at least captures part of the name. Then you can show the full name on that 1 million dollar flash design you picked :) Also, make sure to use your domain name in your email. I can't tell you how many times a business person emailed me from some generic name, then I had to go looking for their website. All businesses should be in the business of lowering anxiety and making life more simple.

Blog Domain Brainstorming

I like to write down all the words that describe my blog in some way. I will write out a list of 30 descriptive words. Don't filter anything at this point. Just free write and jot down anything that pops up. After you feel satisfied, you can start combining words, combining parts of words or even adding new words to parts to create totally new phrases.
