Is There A Future With Twitter

What is Twitter? Do you see the future in new platforms like Twitter? It is a micro blogging platform designed to keep people in touch through short web messages. At first, I was very skeptical of Twitter. As I learn more about it, I love it more. I really like how it is so open, just like Facebook. I am seeing the future and how Twitter might be here to stay. Most forums are dead. Email open rates are down. I can't tell you how many times people don't even check their email. I have to call all of my e-commerce sales questions on the phone because they don't open their email replies. Also, email is not a very robust way to communicate. You send a message, you receive a message. Text messaging has definately taken a bite out of regular email. Twitter takes the text message and makes it better. It takes micro blogging, email, marketing, text messaging and social connections, and combines all of them into one. That is an example of convergence. Its convergence just like how I am combining a new blog platform with search engine friendly technology. Twitter could be the new micro blog here to stay. It especially rides this new trend of increasing integrity where people will be more open on their lives and share knowledge. I don't have a reason to keep too many secrets when it comes to being social. A true socialite doesn't need to hide one secret after another. If you are earning social credits, instead of cash credits, people are much more willing to share. We don't need to leverage secrets of oppression over others to create pyramical hiearachies. I know we will always have our secrets. I just see a move toward more openess through social media.
